This is 100% better than angi's bar opposite. Welcoming to tourists, don't speak English well but seem to welcome respectable folk. Proper pub!

If you are not german, do not come here. The woman in the bar is extremely rude. Don't let yourself be fooled by the progressits and st Pauli stickers. We were so unwelcome here since minute one. When i politely asked for a beer and tried to pay with a 50 euro bill. She looked at me and said loudly "i saw a 10 euro bill in your purse, give it to me!" It was a 5 euro. She took it from my hand abruptly. Later, i was staring at the jukebox and asked her how i could put a song (everyone was doin it) and she just ignored me and looked at me with disdain. Do not recommend this place at all.

Don’t get confused when the owner - the famous Brigitte is grumpy - she is one of the most warm hearted person I ever experienced, but there is a degree of authenticity in the oldschool pubs like this. The pub is one of the most St Pauli fan authentic places in Hamburg, definitely don’t miss it, although they just have bottled Astra for 2,5 EUR. For non smokers: don’t go there!

If you are a tourist I do not recomend this place. We were 7 girls from Spain. The first thing that happened was that while some of us were ordering drinks the rest wanted to use the toilet, but this was denied because according to them, we had to order first. After this unpleasant surprise the waitress passed by us screaming to the rest of the people at the bar (thinking maybe that we didnt speak german) " it stinks here". They have the worst customer service. They were rude, unpolite and well...I let you judge the rest.

Very charming pub where the time seems to have been standing still since the 80's. The interior is covered with stickers and the beer is cheap and local. The curtains have a yellowish tone from all the indoor smoking, which is quite charming in its own way
