This pub is classy yet intimate, with a cosy warm feeling. While walking in to be welcomed by friendly staff and a good range of beer sections you can’t go wrong. Not to mention how beautifully decorated the interior of this small pub is! Would suggest to everyone!

Super cozy historical pub in the heart of Bristol, wide variety of drinks served by friendly staff. The Christmas decorations really create a magical vibe!

Delightfully traditional venue, reasonably priced, with very helpful staff. Several of us met there, from different parts of the country, for a reunion lunch, 53 years after graduation. We were graciously given use of a private room, which made the event perfect. The food was well prepared and cooked, albeit choice was not wide, but for a lunch menu perfectly acceptable. Also only about 15 minutes pleasant walk from Temple Meads station

Lovely old pub with historical pictures and details on the walls, very friendly staff. Food was delicious and not too long to wait, considering it was Sunday lunch time. I can highly recommend Shakespeare Tavern if you in Bristol city.

Cosy. To be honest after a few visits over a week it is hit or miss based on staff and what’s happening re bookings (and this is nothing that the tavern can control but interesting to see “reservations on all tables” but not occupied and reactions when community enters). Top floor seems to be guaranteed offering of tables up stairs (careful vertigo). We ate the pie and fish N chips both amazing. Fries v chips a difference, note to self pay attention. Love the celebration of Christmas. All round a fan but beware of nuances.
