Well, I’ve never been to an EDL meeting before, but I imagine it’s pretty much like the clientele in this place.. middle aged rough blokes with stone island or union flags on their coats. Very intimidating atmosphere and rubbish beer. Such a shame as it’s in a prime location

Brilliant pub with excellent staff. Dog friendly, has a nice lil courtyard beer garden, and an interesting museum underneath. Also does live music on a Friday night, would highly recommend for a quality pint and fab sense of community.

Have visited York and the Roman Bath on numerous occasions over the years. Popped in for a for 2 pints of cruzcampo on Friday afternoon Β£10 for 2 pints which I thought was quite reasonable Went back on Saturday afternoon for the same drinks handed over Β£10. I was told the price was Β£11.40 When I queried the price ie saying I only paid Β£10 on Friday, the barmaid said the price go's up. Very disappointing from a well respected and popular bar. Also, seems strange. Prices vary, day to day? Is there a tourist and local price? Christmas Market starts next weekend. No doubt the price will increase again. Shame as it's a lovely bar with nice staff.

This was a pleasant surprise and a pint afterwards was nice. If they ever open this up further, it will be truly spectacular. Short attraction, but we'll worth a visit.

What a fabulous pub this is. Called in on a rainy Bank Holiday Monday afternoon and was served by a friendly, happy lady. We had 2 glasses of wonderful Sauvignon blanc. There were tv' s on for those wanting to watch sport and music playing. There is a lovely little beer garden which also has a tv and am sure would be perfect on a sunny day. I great find and will be back.
