A bar that has been here for almost 150 years and still isnfun to visit. The atmossphere is nice and staff is very alert and efficiënt. We enjoyed our visit very much . Thanks for a great evening

Nice charming pub in the middle of the city. And looks fun. However as a foreigner who doesn't speak Dutch the staff tend to ignore you and you really need to work hard to get thier attention. It is sad to have such attitude in a city like Rotterdam. Apart from that a nice place which I would otherwise have frequented.

We enjoyed visiting the oldest café/bar in Rotterdam, Melief Bender, established in 1876, starting as a liquor room and evolving into a famous spot known for its traditional brown café atmosphere. The interior has rich brown wood paneling with several old photographs. There are tables and bar stools. Outside there are a few tables as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their hot mulled wine and bread.

Such a cool atmosphere inside. I sat on bar section and the bartender was super cool. He helped me to select beer varieties. I tried three different beers and all three of them have individual flavors.

Came on a Friday evening. Sat in there for 5 minutes inside, the waiter didn’t care because I came alone. Left after 5 minutes of nobkdy noticing me. You can be the oldest bar in town but it doesn’t matter when your service is terrible.
