The Christmas menu was spot on this year.. Smoked Bacon Salad, 8oz Fillet steak. All perfectly prepared and served... compliments to the city of Galway

Classy pub restaurant that can seat 300 people I was told. It was packed on Sat and I was turned away but returned Sun afternoon and was impressed that the GM remembered me and treated me like a VIP. I ordered a half pint Guiness with the Killarney Fjord mussels and they were tasty, tender and succulent. Great service and great food on my last day in charming Galway was a great way to end my trip.

Creamiest goat cheese I have ever had, paired with some sort of beet purée. A killer fish and chip and an all around awesome restaurant. I highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Absolutely Fabulous! We had an incredible experience at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and attentive without ever feeling rushed. We all ordered the steak — beautifully cooked, tender, and full of flavor. Every bite melted in our mouths. You can tell the chef takes real pride in the details. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, making it the perfect spot for both a special occasion and a casual night out. We left completely satisfied and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend to anyone who loves great food and top-notch service!

Great pub in Galway! I have been to McSwiggans many times since I’ve arrived in September, and it’s now one of my favourite spots in Galway for great food, warm atmosphere, and friendly service. The mussels were the first thing I tried. Sadly I don’t have a picture to share but they were absolutely Devine, so simple, yet so delicious…a must! I wanted to especially acknowledge Barbara, who has been one of the kindest and most attentive people I’ve met here. From the very first time I visited, she made the experience feel welcoming and memorable; she brings such personality, professionalism, and genuine care to her work. As someone who also works in hospitality, I know how much effort goes into creating those small, meaningful connections with customers. Barbara represents the best of what makes Galway’s restaurant scene so special. I truly hope her dedication is seen and valued. People like her make guests return again and again. I highly recommend you try this spot out!
