Pretty sure if you canβt have fun here, then you might as well stop trying!! 8 of us came from Canada to Ireland and this was our favourite pub in the country! The staff is what makes it so special, and especially the owner! I will advice you that if you are a sensitive fellow or donβt enjoy a good ribbing then this isnβt the place for you! Friendly jabs and teasing is what they do here and why we loved it! Should mention to that the musical entertainment was incredible too! We will all miss this place so much and if ever around the Dublin area again we will be back! Thank you guys!

Great service and great local atmosphere. Good place to sit and enjoy a pint or a smoke in the courtyard. Friendly staff and tourist friendly.

Great little pub, with the kind of Irish pub atmosphere you're likely looking for. Staff is friendly and serves a great pint. Order at the bar then take it back to your seat, or stand. Went on a random Saturday night, listened in on the locals talking with the bartender. Playful banter seemed to be the theme of conversation, something about local 'greasy spoons' restaurants and the few remaining in the city. Picked up some good tips on local eateries, just by eavesdropping! ;) At one point, the bartender brought out a 200 year old fiddle to show one of the patrons, didn't get the story behind it though. All in all, a great few hours spent here with my wife. Goes to show, listening while travels takes your further than always trying to be heard! ;) Dublin rocks!

This place came highly recommended by my Irish guide as a real Irish Pub with traditional live music. The place channel old world charm. It is not overly crowded and the toilet is clean. The music starts at 930pm.

Such a good scene! There were still tourists around here but the vibes were fantastic. The duo we saw performed some of their own songs and also some trad music, with no mic or electronics. The section they were sitting in they called the "listening zone" and anyone who was talking was told to go sit at the bar or back room, in a joking but serious way. They were amazing performers! They knew how to work the crowd in a very tiny space! Get there between 8-830 to get a seat, there are some pub tours that end the night there so they fill the space. It was a grand time! Bring cash for tips! It's worth it.
