I went into Lloyds expecting a great night! Only to be kicked out by a lady (very rude - glasses and blonde/pink hair) for being gay. It’s 2025 and we should not be having to deal with this kind of discrimination. I hope a full internal review is done - even the bouncer (lovely guy - tattoos) encouraged us to write a review and commented on how ‘sober’ we were. Disgusting behaviour from a member of staff who was clearly offended by seeing two girls kissing!!!!

Seems like a popular place with a nice atmosphere. Only popped in for one before heading home. Would recommend.

This is a massive, cathedral-like place (perhaps dedicated to St Timothy 🙄) full to the brim of lively, seemingly not very bright students, many out of their tiny minds (and I’m using the verb ‘tiny’ literally) with the help of the amber nectar or similar concoctions and other (no doubt proscribed) ‘substances’. The food is…food and, like all Spoons, the ambiance varies from somnolent to ‘extremely lively’ depending on the time of the week and/or the day. TOP TIP: As with all Spoons: timing is everything. My advice would be never to venture there after dark or at weekends, the only exception being to get ‘tanked up’ before going to a more expensive, (moderately) classier venue.

Lloyds No. 1 Bar has its own unique charm while providing Wetherspoons’ extensive value priced menu. I had a beef burger with onion rings and a side salad. The meal was substantial and I enjoyed the relaxed ambiance of the pub.

There is a really nice atmosphere here, lots of space but nearly all the tables are occupied. We found space upstairs and we were served promptly. The stairs and toilets need a bit of love as they show age but otherwise the restaurant is pretty and well situated.
