  Golden Kettle Irish Pub The place was actually quite nice, and the atmosphere was good — until the bill arrived. Both a service charge and a tip were automatically added to the bill, without us being informed in advance. A beer cost 130 CZK, which is very expensive for Prague (the same beer can be found in many places for around 39 CZK / 0.4 l). We protested. At first, the staff removed the tip, and after further discussion, the service charge was also removed. A nice place — but be aware of hidden charges.

  Dec 2025 - such a unique place. It's below ground with great decor. The beer & burger special is a great buy. The burger & fries were fantastic ( I could have been hungry, lol) The service was quick and atmosphere perfect considering where you are in Prague.

  My wonderful impression of Prague was completely ruined by a visit to this pub. Yesterday, while walking through the Old Town, I decided to stop by for a glass of dark beer. I told the bartender what I wanted, and he immediately said that payment was cash only. I asked how much the beer cost — he didn’t answer. I was holding 200 CZK in my hand, ready to pay. When I repeated my question, he glanced at the money and simply said “200 crowns,” took it from my hand, and put it straight into his own wallet. This was not only shocking but truly disappointing. Such behavior is clearly an undeclared cash transaction and an illegal practice by the staff. When I asked for a receipt, the bartender looked confused and nervously started printing one. After three failed attempts, he finally handed me a receipt — which I still have. I am certain he just entered a random price of 191 CZK and kept the remaining 9 CZK without giving any change. By the way, the check was not fiscal. I took my beer and, feeling upset, stepped outside to sit near the entrance. I would strongly advise everyone to avoid this place. To the owners and management — please take care of your pub’s reputation. It looks nice and has an amazing location right in the heart of Prague, but experiences like this destroy trust and damage the city’s image for visitors.

  We stopped by during the day for a quick drink and had a good experience. The place has a really interesting design kind of a rustic cellar style with lots of stuffed animals and birds, which gives it a unique vibe (though it might not be for everyone). The bartender was friendly and kind. Can’t comment on the food since we didn’t try any, but overall it’s a pleasant spot to grab a drink.

  We arrived around 2 p.m. The pub has a fantastic atmosphere, good music, and delicious food (we had a beefburger with fries and a beer—the daily special). The tip is included in the bill, which didn't bother me.
