We had their meatballs, fish soup and crab & prawn salad. Overall a good meal & service was excellent. Will recommend if you want a fuss free dinner.

Innovative menu. We enjoyed everything from the starters to the dessert. All dishes are beautifully presented. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Highly recommended. Five stars well deserved.

Although there are many great reviews of this place — like most spots in Bergen 🥲 — we didn’t enjoy our dining experience. We wish the staff had advised us to choose dishes with more varied textures, as both the crab and prawn salad and the cod with mashed potatoes had very similar textures. Unfortunately, the fish soup was extremely salty, and we couldn’t even finish it. The staff didn’t bother to ask how was our overall experience, hence this review.

The best dinner we have had in Norway so far. Super friendly staff. Food was full of flavour. The Fish Pie and Apple cider was especially memorable. Price was also surprisingly affordable! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Bergen!!!

There was a very long wait at Pingvinen but we were advised to head downstairs to Schmidt to enjoy the same menu. The service was excellent, the space was cozy and pretty, and they very kindly let us borrow a phone charger while we dined. Our favorite dish was the crab & prawn salad - SO good and could have eaten a lot more.
