  I arrived here just before noon, I timed it right. The pub downstairs was packed but upstairs was quieter. I got a seat, it is certainly easier to get a single seat. I ordered fish and chips it was lovely. My order came quickly and the staff were really nice. I was also able to make a donation to social bite a charity that helps the homeless get a meal. I really enjoyed this experience, the food was delicious. I am not sure if you can book in advance. There was a waiting queue when I left. I believe it is worth the wait.

  We had superb service. They were very accommodating since our group was 9. All the food was excellent, I had the award winning steak and Ale pie and sticky pudding for dessert. It is not inexpensive but we had no regrets about this venue. It is very cozy and nice atmosphere. Many of the people visiting were dressed up nicely for this pub.

  The restaurant, Nichola's ale &gin establishments since 1873, is located upstairs in the famous Scottish pub, Deacon Brodie's Tavern. It is centrally located on the Royal Mile, close to all the main attractions. It gets very crowded during lunchtime. They offer an extensive range of Scottish whisky from the fruity to the smoky,enjoy premium scotch with a trodiontal meal e.g lamb haggis. The seafood is also quite fresh and taste at just average level.

  We arrived without reservation and the local was almost full. We waited less than 5 minutes and they gave us a table. The attention was so good and the woman with the red hair was so gentle with us speaking spanish and helping us choosing! The food was amazing, the drinks too and I recommend the toffe pudding! It was delicious. I tried my first haggis here with the Balmoral chicken and was a good surprise!

  We went to the restaurant upstairs and the food was excellent. We got the meat pies and the mash. If you haven't had a Carachan dessert yet, I highly recommend you save room to try it. We have been told that the dish is just as traditional as haggis, and we really enjoyed it. The establishment itself was pretty busy, so we had to wait for about 45-50 minutes before the three of us were seated. However, the wait didn't feel too long because we were able to hang out downstairs and have a couple beers.
