Was looking for a place to grab a soup due to the cold rainy weather and to get my spirits up after a long travel, and this place popped up on G maps. Was a little bit disappointed with the portion of the soup and because it was almost scolding hot, maybe it's a German thing, me being used with 300 to 400 ml soups, however it got balanced out by the "Fitness plate" which was on it's A game. The veggies were properly grilled and the beef with the red sauce, turned it into a nice dinning in experience. The toasted bread was a little bit weird because it was a little bit greasy for my preference however the garlic taste was great. Being also right in Kennedy Square makes it a good location for a dinner and steak house. Unclear on the salad bar and not explanation was given. Also I didn't ask.

My friend had been before and booked us a table to meet up and have dinner. I missed the beginning as I had another event, but the waitress noticed and made sure I had food and drink! The beer was of course lovely and the schnitzel was brilliant but the highlight was the Black and White, such rich gooey chocolate! The staff were so kind and helpful, definitely recommend coming!

A very large venue with several large rooms and plenty of tables, but I recommend booking in advance. The service was pleasant, with the caveat that after we sat down, the waiter blurted out that we had to pay for the meal. My friend and I were very surprised. The waiter was also very nice, asking if everything was okay. The food itself was delicious, and the beer was good too. The photo shows the food the restaurant prepared for us during our charity event.

I visited Dampfe Restaurant again after almost 10 years. I still remember how nice it used to be the atmosphere, the food, and the traditional German brewery vibe were all excellent back then. I was really looking forward to visiting again and enjoying the same charm. But honestly, this time was quite disappointing. The place was extremely noisy and full of drunk people shouting like they were watching a football match. It didn’t feel like a restaurant anymore, more like a bar during a football night. We could hardly talk to each other because of the loud noise. After just one beer, we decided to leave. Even the two tables next to us also left early; they couldn’t continue their meal either. It’s a pity, because Dampfe used to be such a great and relaxing place to enjoy good German food and beer with friends. I understand it’s a brewery and people come to have fun, but there should be a limit. A restaurant should still keep a comfortable dining atmosphere. I hope the management looks into this and brings back the pleasant and friendly environment that made this place special years ago.

oct. 2 2025, it was great. simple and short so here it is. i did the traditional haus pfanne. it was massive for one person to eat. if you was a massive pork feast, this entree plate is for you. and a salonbier which was good too. like to try a more typical traditional german food. so the family suggested this joint. atmosphere is good too. and has a biergarten so looks great for outdoor hangout fun. overall, it was good.
