Came to this pub a few times before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience each time. I recently went in for a charity quiz night with a few friends and it was a really enjoyable night. Staff are all so friendly, food and drinks were served fast and the food is really good! Highly recommend for a friendly pub vibe.

We were staying around the corner from the Cross Keys and decided that because York would be heaving with the Christmas Market on Saturday, we would catch the bus back and eat locally in the evening. What a great idea! We booked a table the day before which was just as well as the pub was heaving! It turned out that there was football being shown, as well as a quiz, as well as a raffle! Great atmosphere the whole evening. The food was delicious and a wonderful wide ranging menu. We were delighted with the quantity and taste of the sharing Nacho plate. The vegan burger, Christmas pizza, grilled salmon and award wining steak and ale pie were tucked into- with not much left! Only 2 of us could manage a dessert- the honeycomb brownie sundae and sticky toffee slice! Wonderful! Great portion size and very reasonably priced. Will definitely go back if we are back in the area again. Thank you

A lovely family friendly pub. Food is great with lots of options for everyone, well accommodating of kids with high chairs etc and good offers throughout the week. Recommend the chicken tikka masala, chicken burgers and pies! Service is always so lovely and one of the reasons we come back so often 😊

Stayed in York for a few days and wanted to go somewhere for our evening meal. Booked a table online after reading reviews and we had our dog with us so we wanted somewhere that was dog friendly. Me and my partner shared chicken strips, tempura prawns and breaded mushrooms to start then I had gammon and chips and my partner had steak and ale pie and chips. Friendly staff, quick service, reasonably priced. Would recommend.
