Wow! Underground Calgary gem. Would absolutely recommend to locals & tourists alike, truly a must see in YYC with an awesome upbeat vintage jazz atmosphere! The librarians were kind enough to provide us with free champagne & great conversation making utmost sure to make us feel at home. Our bartenders Izzie & Bo were lovely, extremely kind, & clearly very knowledgeable on cocktails & the ins & outs of Betty Lou’s. Our server John was quick & helpful, making sure to make us feel at home. Truly unbeatable food & drinks paired with great music, vibes & staff! Thank you Betty Lou’s! Will absolutely come back & recommend when I can.

Went out with some pals for a classy jazz night and had such a great time. Our server, John, was hilarious and knew the menu like the back of his hand, very impressive! The drinks were also incredibly tasty, super unique as well. We have some folks in our group who don’t drink, and the bartender made us some personalized mocktails that were super yummy and classy (John also memorized all the ingredients in these drinks, which is an incredible talent considering they aren’t an the menu and everybody got something different.)

Every time we come to Betty Lou’s, it feels like more than just a night out — it’s a truly special experience. The customer service is always amazing, and I especially want to mention May Rose and Lewis. They are absolute gems — always kind, attentive, and simply the best every single time. A big thank you as well to Bo, the manager, who always tries to accommodate us in the best way possible. It really makes us feel welcome and valued. And of course, a special thank you to Kris — the food is always absolutely delicious, and the drinks are spot on (at least my other half tells me so 😁). She’s a true expert behind the bar, and it shows! The atmosphere, the music (always such a vibe — oh my God!), and the energy here make it one of those places you look forward to every time. If I could make just one wish, it would be to see a dark beer on the menu someday — since that’s the only thing I drink. Betty Lou’s is truly one of a kind, and we’re always grateful for the unforgettable evenings you create for us.

What a hidden gem! Betty Lou’s doesn’t even have a sign outside, and that already makes it feel like you’re stepping into something special. The atmosphere is unforgettable — cozy, intimate, with just a few tables and the kind of live jazz that makes you forget about time. Pure magic. Special mention to Kristian — he personally brought out the dishes he prepared, and wow, everything was beyond delicious. For the first time I tried warm olives and it was such a surprise — a completely new taste for me! His vegetarian creamy mushroom toast was outstanding, and there was also this hummus with roasted tomatoes and peppers (I hope I’m naming it right) that I still can’t stop thinking about. And of course, the cocktails 🍸 — each one is unique, carefully crafted, and absolutely memorable. They really know how to match flavors here. I also want to thank Mayrose, who served us twice — so knowledgeable, explaining every detail like a true pro. Her service made the whole experience even better. Honestly, Betty Lou’s is like stepping back in time — prohibition-style charm, incredible food and drinks, warm service, and jazz that’s just next-level. I’ll definitely be back again and again.

Had a great time at Betty Lou’s! The space is intimate, and the customer service was fantastic—loved how the staff, they stayed in character throughout the night. The drinks are strong (in the best way), and the live band really added to the charm. The entire speakeasy atmosphere was immersive and made for a memorable night out. Highly recommend for a unique cocktail experience in the city.
