Great metal music. Good rotation of beers. Sebastien was very welcoming. Will definitely come here again. (I would be a regular if I lived in Quebec city)

A friendly welcoming vibe! Great music and drinks. If you’re looking for a local bar experience, a must stop. Also, a shoutout to Sebastian for being an amazing host! He makes you feel right at home.

Bateau De Nuit By far the best bar around! It really is at great as everyone says, including the rather odd but fun heavy metal music. Although old town Quebec is fun, if you’re out to get a real feel for a genuine local bar, this is the place. !Note- It is cash only, but there is a ATM down the street if need be. Make sure you know the address, as it may be easily overlooked but not impossible to find. There are a few stickers on the green door that opens to stairs that leads up to the bar. It is sailor themed and the art on the walls is done by local people who have come and gone giving the bar an even more local vibe. If you go early in the night, it’s nice and quiet, but I’m told later into the night is when it gets packed! So depends what you like. Being we went early, we were able to socialize with the staff. There was an old man who seemed as if he may have some connection to the bar but was simply drinking while we were there, however, he was very friendly and was more than willing to explain the drawings and tell the history of the art on the walls- Awesome old man! The bartender we spent our evening with, was Sebastian. He was incredibly knowledge, funny, and friendly. He explained all the beers they had on tab and their history, and offered plenty of samples so we’d get exactly what we wanted. Even when we wanted to continue our night at other local bars, he was so helpful in educating us in what bars were good or bad, and explained what each had to offer whether it be playing pool, somewhere with a massive variety of beer, and even where the best drunk food could be found. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bar!
