Been in here since it opened a good few years ago now. It's been a good bar normally .However Gradually its became a reservation only pub. Went in the other day about 5:30pm reservation signs on some of the tables, we sat at a rare un reserved table in the bar area thinking we could sit for a meal and spend the rest of the evening watching the football. Ordered food around 5:40ish. Food was ok. As soon as we finished our meals around 6:15pm a staff member put a reserved sign on our table! If we had been told the table had been reserved, we would have went elsewhere. We tried pointing out this and related to staff that this was unfair and underhand. We felt like we had been duped into buying a meal. Apparently policy is to put reserved signs up 2 hours prior to the reservation. No sign was on the table when we sat, no effort was made to tell us prior to ordering a meal, only after we had finished our meal did we get the sign. This was at 6:15ish for a reservation for 7:30pm. Not a great experience, felt used. To be fair the practice of half of a pub having reserved tables from 5pm onwards seems to be what is seen by pubs as good practice, I disagree as it puts customers off sitting down at reserved tables and they will walk out. Witnessed this in here and the other place we ended up at after we walked out of the Bag a Nails.

The food was lovely and the service was good. The band were good but so loud it was ridiculous! We were seated in the restaurant but the band was so loud, you couldn't have a conversation, you couldn't even hear the person serving and they couldn't hear me. I had every expectation of the pub being lively but this was too much. For 45mins we just looked at each other, any attempt at conversation went like "What?" "Eh" . If you want to be able to hear yourself think or talk to the person with you don't go between 4-6pm on a Saturday

Service was great and the food was good. Pizza was lovely and the onion rings where crispy. Had some lovely cocktails to. The waitress was really helpful.

Music was very loud, the venue was cold. Decent selection, but on the pricey side. Just over Β£9 for a pint and a coke.

So glad we decided to call in this place on the way back to the subway station from Kelvingrove museum. Didn't look the best from outside with a group of smokers hanging around the door - but such a difference inside. Bright light and airy, lovely staff and great dΓ©cor. excellent choice from the menu as well as lunchtime specials. And a great choice of ales including Drygate brewery which we visited the day before. Very happy - thanks all
